Jazan and Riyadh reach the final of the Regional Teams Championship

Jazan and Riyadh teams booked their place in the final of the under-13 Regional Teams Championship, which will be held the day after tomorrow, Tuesday.
The semi-final matches were held today, Sunday, where Jazan defeated its counterpart Qassim on penalties 4-3 after the end of the time with a goalless draw, and Jazan player Al-Muhannad Fayyad received the player of the match award, while Riyadh qualified after its victory over Jeddah with a score of 2-0, and Riyadh player Thabet Kabsh received the best player award.
Asir also defeated its counterpart Medina on penalties 6-5 after the end of the regular time with a score of 1-1, and Asir player Ali Al-Qahtani received the best player award, and Al-Ahsa defeated Al-Jawf with a score of 7-0, and Al-Ahsa player Abdulaziz Al-Tammar received the best player award, in two matches aimed at increasing the number of playing minutes for these teams, after their exit from the quarter-finals.
The final of the Regional Teams Championship will be held the day after tomorrow, Tuesday, between Jazan and Riyadh, and the third-place match will be held between Al-Qassim and Jeddah.
The two semi-final matches were led by two young refereeing crews, who had previously led junior and youth matches in the Premier League, with ages ranging from 20 to 25 years.
It is worth noting that the under-13 Regional Teams Championship, began on July 18 with the participation of 14 regional teams represented by 358 players selected from official clubs, accredited academies, regional training centers and private clubs.
The aim is to discover talents at an early age and work on refining and developing them, in implementation of one of the strategic goals of the Saudi Federation.
