The under-17 national team opens tomorrow, Sunday, its matches within the West Asian Football Federation Championship 2021, which will be hosted by the Eastern region from 5 to 13 December.
The under-17 national team will host Lebanon national team at 6:45 pm at Al-Nahda Club Stadium in Dammam.
On the field level, the players of the national team conducted their training session this evening, Saturday, on the reserve stadium of Prince Muhammad bin Fahd Stadium, under the supervision of coach Abdel Wahab Al-Harbi and the assistant technical staff, as it started with practicing possession of the ball, before moving on to applying tactical training, to conclude the session with a maneuver on a mini-court.
On the other hand, the coach of the under-17 national team, Abdel Wahab Al-Harbi, explained during the press conference held this evening that the technical work on the current generation in the team was not long due to the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic last year, noting that the WAFF Championship comes at an important time during the stage of building the junior teams before the Asian qualifiers at the end of next year.
Al-Harbi indicated that the exploration phase of the current team's players began with four gatherings in the regions of the Kingdom at the beginning of this year, followed by preparatory camps in Egypt, Slovenia and Qatar, interspersed with friendly matches at various levels.
Abdulwahab Al-Harbi concluded his speech by stressing that the biggest goal is to prepare this generation for the future, to be supportive of the teams in the higher categories and achieve more achievements for Saudi football.
On the other hand, the West Asian Football Federation, represented by the organizing committee of the tournament, held a coordination meeting in the presence of the participating team managers, during which a number of logistical, security, marketing, media and medical organizations were discussed, and the “white” kit was approved during the two matches of the national team in the group stage.
