The press conference for the coaches of the first group teams of the qualifiers for the U-20 AFC Asian Cup, which will be hosted by the Eastern Region from 10-18 September, was held today, Friday, with the participation of the Maldives, China, Myanmar and Uzbekistan, in addition to our hosting national team.
Uzbekistan coach Farhad Nishanov started the press conference, stressing the readiness of his players for the qualifiers, noting that he is seeking the top the group, while Maldives coach Ahmed Shaker expressed his aspiration to appear in an honorable manner during the matches.
Myanmar coach Su Mit Min described the group as difficult, noting that Saudi Arabia, China and Uzbekistan are the most capable of achieving the lead, while China coach Antonio Vicente stressed that the presence of the Saudi national team in the group makes it more difficult, but stressed the readiness of his players for the qualifiers, after going through many friendlies during the last period.
The coach of our national team, Saleh Al-Mohammadi, concluded the press conference by confirming that the first group is the most difficult among the qualifying groups for the “Uzbekistan 2023” AFC Asian Cup, as it includes three candidate teams to achieve the title, but he expressed his confidence in the ability of the players to qualify and continue their achievements that they achieved after they were crowned with the U-20 Arab Cup.
On the other hand, the coaches of the national teams of the first group of the qualifiers held today a technical meeting to discuss all the logistical and technical preparations for the group matches.
Prince Saud bin Jalawi stadium in Al-Khobar and Prince Muhammad bin Fahd stadium in Dammam will host the group matches, which start tomorrow, Saturday, with the matches of Uzbekistan with the Maldives and Myanmar with China.
