
Girls' school football league kicks off

The Ministry of Sports, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, launched the School Football League for girls in various governorates and cities of the Kingdom on the second of October as part of the development of the women’s football system to create a generation that achieves achievements and builds a bright future for women’s football in the Kingdom.
The Women's Football Department in the Saudi Arabian Football Federation is supervising this project, as the championship will continue until the fifteenth of December, when the winning team will be crowned in the final.
The registration witnessed a great turnout from female students and educational authorities, as 48,324 players participated, representing 4,768 teams from 1,906 schools, as matches will be held on 63 public education schools’ playgrounds.
In addition, 3793 female coaches were appointed to train the participating teams, and 413 female referees out of 544 applicants have passed the qualifying arbitration courses, and work is underway to intensify the courses for female coaches and female referees in the coming months.
