
WAFF Championship kicks off in Jeddah on Thursday

The U-23 West Asian football Federation Championship 2022 will start tomorrow, Thursday, with the participation of 6 national teams: Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Syria, Lebanon, in addition to the hosting Olympic national team.
The draw of the tournament was held earlier, as the national team came at the top of the second group with Syria and Bahrain, while the first group included Oman, Qatar and Lebanon.
Jeddah will host the tournament from 3-15 November, with the first and second of each group qualifying for the semi-finals.
The President of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, Yasser Al Misehal, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the wise leadership for its generous support to the sports sector and football in particular, which resulted in the Kingdom taking a distinguished position in hosting many sporting events during the recent period with great support and interest from the His Highness the Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal.
Al Misehal welcomed the delegations of the national teams participating in the tournament, wishing them a pleasant stay in their second country, the Kingdom, expressing his wishes for our Olympic national team success.
