Today, Wednesday, the U-23 national team continued its training in Jeddah, in preparation for the U-23 West Asian Football Federation Championship 2022.
The Olympic national team players conducted their training session this evening on the reserve stadium in King Abdullah Sports City, under the supervision of coach Saad Al-Shehri and the assistant technical staff, during which they applied fitness and tactical exercises.
On the other hand, the coach of the under-23 national team, Saad Al-Shehri, explained during the press conference held this evening, Wednesday, for the coaches of the national teams participating in the WAFF Championship, that the participation in the tournament comes within a long-term preparation plan that began since participating in Islamic Solidarity Games in Turkey, and added that the goal is to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympic games and maintaining the Asian title.
Al-Shehri added: "We hope that the technical benefit and goals will be achieved for us and for all the teams participating in the tournament, who we welcome in their second country, and we look forward to the matches being of high technical value".
It is noteworthy that the draw of the U-23 WAFF Championship 2022 put the national team in group "B", along with Bahrain and Syria, in the tournament that will be held from November 2 to 15 in Jeddah.
