SAFF celebrates the original version of the World Cup

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation celebrated the arrival of the original version of the World Cup in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which represents the last round of the cup's journey around the world before arriving in Qatar, where the 22nd edition of the World Cup "Qatar 2022" will be held.

Al-Turaif neighborhood in Diriyah hosted the World Cup yesterday, Friday, in the presence of the Assistant Minister for Sports Affairs Abdulaziz Baeshen, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports for Sports and Youth Affairs Abdulaziz Al-Mosaad, the Undersecretary for Strategic Planning and Investment in the Ministry of Sports Adwaa Al-Arifi, the Secretary-General of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation Ibrahim Al Kassim, and the Assistant Secretary-General of SAFF Ibrahim Al-Qabba , Vice President and General Manager of Coca-Cola in the Middle East, Mr. Tolga Sibi, and the star of the Spanish national team, representative of the International Football Association, player David Villa, in addition to the presence of a number of businessmen, media and athletes.

For his part, Secretary-General Ibrahim Al Kassim expressed his happiness with the arrival of the original version of the World Cup in Saudi Arabia, and that the Kingdom would be its last stop before arriving in Doha, wishing the sisterly State of Qatar to organize an exceptional and historical version of the largest football event in the world.

Al Kassim added: "We look forward to the national team succeeding in achieving its goals from the sixth participation in the World Cup, which Qatar will host for the first time in the Middle East".

The original version of the World Cup arrived Friday morning in Jeddah, as it moved from King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah to King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, before moving to Jeddah Corniche to conclude the tour in Andalus Mall, where it left with the delegation of the International and Saudi Federations, representatives of the Ministry of Sports and the organizing company for the tour, Coca-Cola, as it will travel to Riyadh to attend Diriyah celebration, while today, Saturday, the fans will have the opportunity to take souvenir photos in Granada Mall, before moving to Dhahran to participate in a celebration within the “Tanween” creativity season at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture “Ithra”.

These events are part of the fifth tour of the FIFA World Cup organized by Coca-Cola, which included visits to 51 countries and regions this year, marking another step towards the goal of Coca-Cola and the International Football Association “FIFA” to visit the cup for all the 211 member states of the federation by 2030.

Tolga Sebi, Vice President and General Manager of Coca-Cola Company for the Middle East, said: “Saudi fans are passionate about football and we share their enthusiasm for the national team and their participation in the World Cup, and we are proud to give fans in Saudi Arabia this experience, which gives thousands of Saudi fans the opportunity to win match tickets and encourage their national team during the tournament.

On the other hand, the Spanish star and holder of the 2010 World Cup with Spain, David Villa, said: "It is an honor to be here in Saudi Arabia, as the FIFA World Cup tour organized by Coca-Cola arrives in Saudi Arabia, touching the feelings of thousands of fans on its journey".
