SAFF hosts the international friendly tournament for women

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation will host the international friendly tournament for women, with the participation of 4 teams, namely Pakistan, Comoros, Mauritius, in addition to our guest national team.

The Eastern Region will host the championship from January 11 to 19, where the matches will be held at Prince Saud bin Jalawi Stadium in Al-Khobar.

Hosting the tournament is part of the goals of the Women's Football Department of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation to develop the first national team, which was launched last year, and played many camps and friendly matches during the last period.

For her part, the member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, general supervisor of women’s football department, Lamia bint Ibrahim bin Bahian, said that women’s football in the Kingdom has witnessed great development in recent times, through the development of local competitions and regional training centers for girls, which contributes to the discovery of new talents, can be the nucleus of a strong national team over the next few years.

Indicating that the SAFF harnesses all capabilities to develop women's football, especially as it is among the pillars of the Saudi football transformation strategy that was launched last year.

Bin Bahian added that the international friendly tournament aims to increase friction for the national team players before entering the future official tournaments.
