Tomorrow, Thursday, the national team will play its match in the third round of the first group of the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup in Basra.
The national team will face Oman national team at 6 pm at Al-Mina International Stadium.
The national team concluded its preparations for the match this evening, Wednesday, with a training session on the reserve stadium of Basra International Stadium, under the supervision of coach Saad Al-Shehri and the assistant technical staff, during which the players conducted a tactical exercise on building from the middle of the field and defending from the middle of the field, followed by working on set pieces.
The Assistant Coach Ahmed Al-Ruwaie explained during the press conference held this evening on the sidelines of the third round matches of the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup that the opportunity is still available for the national team to compete for the qualification card by winning tomorrow’s match against Oman, indicating that they are seeking the goal of obtaining the three points of the match and continue the campaign in the championship.
Al-Ruwaie added: “The Saudi and Oman national teams are both seeking to win and qualify, and this matter makes the match not easy, so with technical work and preparation, we look forward to presenting a good level and achieving a positive result to qualify for the advanced roles in the tournament, and we as a technical staff always aspire for the best, so we will work to correct mistakes and reinforce the positives, with our high confidence in our players.”
Regarding the last match against the Iraqi national team, Al-Ruwaie said: "For us as a technical staff, the match ended with its negatives and positives, and we will work to correct mistakes and avoid them in the future, just as the circumstances of the previous match prevented us and our brothers in the Iraqi national team from enjoying the match."
Ahmed Al-Ruwaie stressed that their goal as a technical staff led by coach Saad Al-Shehri is to achieve any tournament in which they participate, indicating that they will work to achieve this goal, adding: “Despite the short period of time for preparation, the national team has a good group of Olympic national team players who fought together in several previous competitions, including achieving the U-23 AFC Asian Cup and achieving the U-23 West Asian Football Federation Championship, and this made it easier for us to work as a technical staff, and we wish success and continue working to achieve our desired technical goals.
The national team player, Faisal Al-Ghamdi, explained during the press conference that he and his colleagues are focused on tomorrow's match against Oman national team, explaining that they are seeking to win the match and continue towards the final of the tournament, indicating that the match between the national team and Iraq national team, was characterized by a wonderful audience.
