Abha hosts the natonal team's group of the U-23 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers

Abha will host the tenth group of the qualifiers for the U-23 AFC Asian Cup “Qatar 2024”, which will be held from 6 to 12 September, with the participation of Lebanon, Cambodia, and Mongolia, in addition to the Olympic national team.

The delegations of the national teams that will participate in the tenth group qualifiers are scheduled to arrive in Abha the day after tomorrow, Monday, while the coordination and technical meeting and press conference for the coaches of the four teams will be held next Tuesday.

The draw of the U-23 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers put the Olympic national team in the tenth group alongside Cambodia, Lebanon and Mongolia.

The qualifiers will be held in a single-round league system, as the first-placed national team from each of the 11 groups qualifies for the finals, along with the four best second-placed teams to join the host team, Qatar.

It is noteworthy that the U-23 AFC Asian Cup qualifies for the football competitions of Paris Olympic Games 2024, noting that the Olympic national team is the holder of the U-23 AFC Asian Cup title, which it won last year for the first time in its history.
