Tomorrow, Wednesday, the tenth group of the qualifiers for the U-23 AFC Asian Cup “Qatar 2024” will start, as it will be hosted by Abha from 6 to 12 September, with the participation of Lebanon, Cambodia and Mongolia, in addition to the Olympic national team.
Today, Tuesday, a coordination meeting was held with the administrators of the tenth group teams of the U-23 AFC Asian Cup 2024 qualifiers, during which all the organizations were discussed with the Organizing Committee and match staffs.
The meeting was also followed by a press conference in the presence of the coaches of the four teams, as the coach of our Olympic national team, Saad Al-Shehri, confirmed the readiness of all the team members to play the matches, especially since some of them are participating with their teams in Roshn Saudi League.
On the other hand, Lebanon national team coach Miguel Moreira said that he aims to qualify for the tournament and not be satisfied with participating in the qualifiers, while Cambodia coach Koji Jiotoko confirmed the strength of the tenth group as it includes the champion of the last edition, while Mongolia coach Ichiro Osaka spoke about the Mongolian national team preparing for the qualifiers just a week ago, and hoping to achieve positive results.
The qualifyiers will be held in a one-round league system, as the first-placed team from each of the 11 groups qualifies for the finals, along with the best 4 teams that finished second to join the hosted team, Qatar.
It is noteworthy that the U-23 AFC Asian Cup qualifies for football competitions at Olympic Games "Paris 2024", noting that the Olympic team is the holder of the U-23 AFC Asian Cup, which it crowned last year for the first time in its history.
