The Saudi Arabia national team's technical director, Roberto Mancini, spoke at the press conference held this evening to talk about the preparations to face Tajikistan in the fourth round of the second round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Asian Cup.
“It is an important match for us and a difficult one because it will be played on an artificial pitch, and this is not easy, in addition to the fact that we will play against a technically good team.", Mancini said.
Regarding the absence of three players from the Green’s list, he responded by saying: “I would like to offer my condolences to Saud Abdul Hamid in this difficult moment that he is going through.”.
“We will miss important players, and this is the case with football, which must deal with all circumstances, but I am confident that the rest of the players will present a good game.",he added.
Mancini confirmed that he came to Tajikistan to win, and said: “We came here to win, and we know very well that it will not be easy, as I mentioned previously, that the pitch will have an impact, and we hope that we will perform well tomorrow to guarantee victory.”
Regarding the names he is expected to start with and how different it is from the last match, he said: “We have not yet decided what names we will start with.”
“I think that the last match we deserved to win and we had many chances, and tomorrow’s match will be different and difficult as it is against a good technical team.”
