The Saudi Arabia national futsal team defeated its counterpart, the Kuwaiti national team, 4-1, in the second friendly match that brought them together today, Thursday, at the Ministry of Sports hall in the city of Dammam.
This was the second friendly match between the two teams as part of their preparations to participate in the Asian Futsal Cup, scheduled to be held in the Kingdom of Thailand during the period from April 17 to 28, 2024.
The first half of the match ended in favor of Al-Akhdar with two goals scored by the duo Saleh Al-Qarni and Moaz Al-Asiri. In the second half, the Kuwaiti national team players were able to score their only goal, before the duo Abdul-Ilah Al-Otaibi and Saleh Al-Qarni added the third and fourth goals, bringing the match to an end with the Green’s victory.
During the course of the match, the “Green Futsal” coach, Andrew Plaza, deliberately involved most of the players, rotating them into groups, playing in the “Power Play” method, and applying the tactical sentences that were practiced in the last period.
Thus, “Green Futsal” concluded his training camp, which was held in the city of Dammam, and lasted for 6 days, during which the Saudi team won three friendlies against Bahrain and Kuwait national teams.
It is noteworthy that the draw for the 2024 Asian Futsal Cup placed the “Green Futsal” in the Group B, alongside the teams of Uzbekistan, Iraq and Australia.
