The Saudi Arabia national team's technical director, Roberto Mancini, spoke at the press conference held this evening to talk about the Green's preparations to face Pakistan in the fifth round of the second round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Asian Cup.
“We are happy to be in Islamabad, and thank you.”, Mancini Said.
"Thank you for the warm welcome we have received since our arrival.” He added, “Tomorrow’s match is important for us and we seek to win it to obtain the full match points and strengthen our lead in the group.” ,he stressed.
Regarding arriving late in the Republic of Pakistan one day before the match, he replied, “This is something we used to apply in the previous two matches against the Jordanian and Tajikistan national teams, as we prefer to train at our home stadium and then play the last training session at the match stadium.”
Mancini refused to underestimate the strength of the Pakistani team, and said: “We respect the Pakistani team. Modern football does not have major differences. It is a match of eleven players against eleven players. The most important thing is that we be present with high concentration to achieve the goal for which we came.”
For his part, the player Mukhtar Ali thanked Pakistan for the wonderful welcome, and about the match he said: "Our focus is on tomorrow's match, which is of great importance to us, and we strive during it to provide a good performance and win match points."
