The AFC approves referee Abdullah Al-Shehri as part of the elite list of Asian field referees

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) approved the inclusion of international field referee Abdullah Al-Shehri (31 years old) in the elite list of Asian field referees, after completing his study hours at the Asian Federation Academy and obtaining a graduation certificate with distinction after studying for four years from 2019 until May 2024, during which the Corona pandemic period occurred.
Al-Shehri began his refereeing career in the 2012-2013 sports season through age group competitions, before progressing and reaching the Roshn Professional League in the 2018-2019 season.
Al-Shehri had passed the AFC tests in August of last year to join the list of elite video referees at the continental level.
Referee Al-Shehri completed the contract of elite Saudi referees in the Asian continent, after Muhammad Al-Huwaish, Khaled Al-Turais, Majed Al-Shamrani, Faisal Al-Balawi, and Shukri Al-Hanfoush.
For his part, the President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), Yasser bin Hassan Al-Mesehal, congratulated the international referee, Abdullah Al-Shehri, on the occasion of entering the elite list of Asian referees, wishing him success and presenting an honorable image of Saudi refereeing in Asia and the world.
Al-Mesehal stressed that this new achievement for Saudi refereeing represents the fruit of continuous support and effort to raise the level of Saudi referees, who have placed their names among the elite referees of the continent, and have achieved a prominent presence in many regional, continental and international events during the past period.
