Jazan crowned with the Under-13 Regional Teams Championship

On Tuesday, the member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), Naeem Al-Bakr, crowned the Jazan team with the Under-13 Regional Teams Championship, in the presence of the technical director of the SAFF, Nasser Larguet, and the tournament director, Ahmed Al-Bahrani, and Khaled Al-Farhan, the technical official in the youth department, and Saleh Al-Dawoud, the technical official in the regional training centers.
Jazan won the Under-13 Regional Teams Championship, in its first edition, which was held at King Fahd Sports City in Taif Governorate during the period from July 18-30, after winning the final match against its counterpart, Riyadh, with a score of 2-1.
The score opened with a goal scored by mistake in his own goal by Riyadh goalkeeper Naif Abu Al-Ela in the 19th minute, before Faisal Kamli strengthened Jazan's lead from a penalty kick in the 26th minute, while Riyadh player Saif Ahmed reduced the score in the 35th minute of the second half.
Jazan qualified for the final match after defeating Al-Qassim on penalties 4-3 in the semi-final, while Riyadh defeated Jeddah 2-0.
Jazan player Al-Muhannad Fayyad won the best player award in the tournament, while Qassim goalkeeper Sultan Al-Muhanna won the best goalkeeper award, while Al-Ahsa player Abdulaziz Al-Tammar won the tournament's top scorer award, and Najran won the fair play award.
Earlier today, Jeddah team secured third place after defeating Al-Qassim team 2-1 in the third and fourth place match, and Jeddah player Faisal Al-Harbi won the best player award.
It is worth noting that the Under-13 Regional Teams Championship kicked off on July 18 with the participation of 14 regional teams led by 28 national coaches, 358 players, and young refereeing teams ranging in age from 20 to 25 years. It aimed to discover talents at an early age and work on developing and refining them, to be a tributary to the national teams, and to implement one of the Saudi Federation’s strategic goals in the path of developing talents.
