FIFA announced the ranking of women's teams for December 2024, where the Saudi national team ranked 166th, advancing 8 places from the last ranking of August.
The new leap in the ranking of the national women's team reflects the boom witnessed by women's football since the launch of the national team in 2021 and its entry into the world rankings in March 2023.
The Green Ladies, under the leadership of its current coach, Luis Cortes, who took over the task in December 2023, are preparing to participate in the preliminary qualifiers for the 2026 Women's Asian Cup, which will start in June 2025, as the team recently held its camp in Qatar during the period from November 25 to December 7, during which it played 3 matches against the Palestine national team (two matches) and Pakistan
Since its launch, the women’s national team has played 29 matches, scoring 32 goals, and has participated in 15 training camps. Local competitions have contributed to developing the performance of the national team players, who are active with their clubs in the Women’s Premier League for the third consecutive season.
