Dammam will host the 5th West Asian Junior Women's Championship from February 7 to 16, with the participation of 6 teams: Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, and Bahrain.
The West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) has set tomorrow, Monday, January 6, as the date for the tournament draw, which will be held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, and will be broadcast on the West Asian Football Federation's YouTube channel.
The tournament will be held at Prince Saud bin Jalawi Sports City Stadium in Khobar, where the tournament will be played in a two-group system, with the first and second place winners qualifying for the semi-finals.
This tournament is of particular importance as it is being held for the first time in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which enhances the Kingdom's position as a regional and international sports destination. This event also represents a unique opportunity for the U-17 national team to continue its development journey and prepare for upcoming international competitions.
For her part, the Vice President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation and Head of the Women's Committee at the West Asian Football Federation, Lamia bint Ibrahim bin Bahyan, welcomed the participating teams, stressing that hosting the tournament comes within the ongoing efforts to promote women's football in the Kingdom, and develop the capabilities of Saudi female players through interaction with high-level regional teams.
