The SAFF holds a meeting to discuss the development of the SAFF Women's U-17 Tournament

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), held a meeting attended by Board Member and Head of the Competitions Committee Naeem Al-Bakr, Director of the Women's Football Department Alia Al-Rasheed, and Technical Director of the National Women's Team Luis Cortes, in addition to representatives of the eight clubs that qualified for the final rounds of the SAFF Women's U-17 Tournament, namely: Al-Hilal, Al-Shabab, Al-Nassr, Al-Qadisiyah, Al-Ahli, Al-Ula, Shu'lah Al-Sharqiya, and Al-Ittihad, to discuss ways to develop the tournament and enhance its role in supporting the national teams.
The meeting discussed the stages of the tournament’s development since its launch, the challenges facing clubs and players in the age groups, in addition to strategies to improve the competition environment to ensure the preparation of a promising generation capable of representing the national team in international forums.
The attendees stressed the importance of the tournament as a main path to discovering and refining talents, as the mechanisms for developing the competition and raising the level of competitiveness were reviewed, which contributes to raising the quality of performance and expanding the base of practices for women's football.
At the end of the meeting, the attendees stressed that the development of women's football in the Kingdom comes within the strategy of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, which aims to raise the level of local competition and enhance the opportunities for female players to represent the national team in regional and international forums.
