Lamia Ben Bahian crowns Lebanon national team with the WAFF Championship Gold Medal

Today, Sunday, the Vice President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), and Head of the Women's Committee in the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF), Lamia bint Ibrahim bin Bahian, crowned the Lebanese national team with the title of the West Asian Youth Championship for Girls in its fifth edition, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Lebanese Football Association, Jihad Al-Shahf, the member of the Executive Committee of the Jordanian Football Association, Stephanie Al-Naber, and the Director of the Women's Football Department at the Saudi Federation, Alia Al-Rashid.
The Lebanese national team won the championship title after defeating its Syrian counterpart with a score of 4-0 in the final match held at Prince Saud bin Jalawi Sports City Stadium in Al-Khobar, and the goals of the match were scored by Dana Abu Hazim "two goals" and Mira Al-Jarrar "two goals".
The Jordanian national team won third place after defeating its Bahraini counterpart 2-0, where they were crowned with bronze medals in the presence of representatives of the West Asian Federation.
This is the third time that the Kingdom has hosted the West Asian Football Federation Championships at the women's level, which confirms the Kingdom's commitment to supporting and developing women's football and enhancing its presence at the regional and international levels.
The tournament also witnessed the first participation of the national junior team, in an important step towards developing young talents and preparing them for future competitions.
For her part, the Vice President of the Saudi Football Federation and Head of the Women's Committee in the WAFF, expressed her pride in the Kingdom hosting this tournament, praising the technical level that the players demonstrated throughout the tournament, saying: "This tournament is an important milestone in the development of women's football in the region, and we are proud that the Kingdom is part of this journey. There is no doubt that hosting such events enhances the development of young players and provides them with competitive opportunities that contribute to refining their skills and preparing them for the future."
In a related context, Lamia bint Ibrahim bin Bahian congratulated the Lebanese team that won the championship title, wishing its players success in their football careers. She also thanked the members of the SAFF and the Women's Football Administration for their great efforts to make this sporting event a success, which promises a distinguished future for women's football in the West Asia region.
It is worth noting that the West Asian Football Federation Championship for Junior Women kicked off on February 8 with the participation of 6 teams: Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, and Bahrain, in addition to the host national team. The teams presented distinguished levels that reflect the remarkable growth and great development witnessed by women's football in the region. The championship witnessed the first appearance of the national team in this category.
