
The Second Under-13 Regional Championship Kicks Off in Taif

The finals of the second Under-13 Regional Championship, organized by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) in Taif Governorate, kicked off today, Tuesday, with the participation of eight regional teams: Riyadh, Jeddah, Eastern Province, Qassim, Al-Ahsa, Asir, Medina, and Al-Jouf.
Four matches were held today at the Okaz Club and the permanent camp stadiums.
The Qassim team defeated the Eastern Province team 2-1, with Abdulrahman Al-Awad and Alaa Al-Mawlid scoring for Qassim, while Saad Al-Shaya scored for the Eastern Province.
The Jeddah team defeated its Riyadh counterpart 1-0, with Saad Hawsawi scoring. Meanwhile, the Asir team defeated Al-Jouf 4-1, with Abdullah Qaisi (two goals), Osama Al-Qafeel, and Ibrahim Al-Darbi scoring for Asir, while Mohammed Al-Shammari scored for Al-Jouf.
The first day's competition concluded with a match between Medina and Al-Ahsa, which Ahmed Al-Salman scored for the latter.
Four matches will be held tomorrow, Wednesday: Eastern Province vs. Al-Jouf, Riyadh vs. Medina, Qassim vs. Asir, and Jeddah vs. Al-Ahsa.
The Under-13 Regional Championship is one of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation's programs to discover and develop talent through such tournaments.
It's worth noting that the Regional Championship is refereed by certified young referees who also officiate matches in the age-group leagues.
