NT-U20 Women's Concludes 2026 AFC U-20 Cup Qualifiers Participation

The Saudi U-20 Women's National Team concluded its participation in the 2026 AFC U-20 Cup Qualifiers with a valuable 2-1 victory over host Bhutan in the final group match on Saturday at Changlimithang Stadium in the Bhutanese capital, Thimphu.

Amira Abu Al-Samh scored the national team's first goal, before Basma added the second goal, giving the Saudi women the three points.

The Saudi women's national team finished third in their group, which included North Korea, Nepal, and Bhutan.

This is the first official participation for the U-20 Women's National Team since its establishment in late 2023, as part of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation's efforts to expand women's participation and enhance the presence of national teams in regional and international events.

For her part, Lamia bint Ibrahim bin Bahyan, Vice President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the players and the technical and administrative staff, emphasizing that participating in the qualifiers represents an important step in the national team's development process.

"This experience forms a foundation upon which to build in the coming stages, within a comprehensive vision for the development of women's football.", she added.

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation affirms its commitment to supporting women's national teams through ongoing preparation programs, enhancing their competitive presence at the continental and international levels.
