
NT U-23 beats Russia in friendly in preparation for the AFC Asian Cup

The Saudi Arabia U-23 national team defeated Russia 2-1 in a friendly match held on Friday evening as part of their preparatory camp in Russia for the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup, which the team is hosting in Riyadh and Jeddah.
The match was attended and monitored by Majed Al-Ghufaili, Chargé d'Affaires at the Saudi Embassy in the Russian Federation.
The Saudi team's goal was scored by Meshari Al-Nemer in the 35th minute, after Russia opened the scoring in the fourth minute, before Abbas Al-Hassan scored the winning goal in the 78th minute.
Italian coach Luigi Di Biagio entered the match with the following lineup: Turki Baljoush in goal; Mohammed Abdulrahman, Mohammed Al-Dosari, Khaled Al-Asiri, Salem Al-Najdi, Abdulmalik Al-Ayeri, Abbas Al-Hassan, Abdulkarim Darsi, Abdulaziz Al-Aliwa, Humam Al-Hamami, and Meshari Al-Nemer.
