The Saudi U-17 Women's National Team concluded its participation in the 2026 AFC U-17 Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers with a valuable 11-0 victory over Kuwait in the match held on Friday at Prince Saud bin Jalawi Sports City Stadium in Khobar, concluding Group B.
The U-17 Women's National Team finished third in its group, which included Iran, Lebanon, and Kuwait, after displaying impressive performances throughout its matches, reflecting the technical and physical development the team has achieved over the past period.
This is the first official participation of the U-17 Women's National Team in the Asian qualifiers, as part of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation's efforts to expand women's participation and enhance the presence of national teams in regional and international events.
The conclusion of the "Green Youth" participation is an extension of the remarkable presence of Saudi women's football in Asian tournaments. The first women's team recently participated in the 2026 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers in Cambodia and performed admirably. Meanwhile, the U-20 women's national team concluded its participation in the AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup qualifiers in Bhutan with a deserved 2-1 victory over the host team in its final match.
For her part, Alia bint Abdulaziz Al-Rashid, Director of the Women's Football Department at the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, expressed her pride in the performance of the national team players during the qualifiers, stressing that their participation represents an important step in building the national team of the future. She said, "The commitment and high spirits we witnessed among the players reflects the significant development witnessed by Saudi women's football, and this experience will be a starting point for further official participation in the coming stages."
The Saudi Arabian Football Federation affirms its commitment to continuing to support women's national teams of all age groups through ongoing preparation programs and development camps aimed at raising technical readiness and enhancing competitive presence at the continental and international levels.
