Women’s NT Concludes Second Participation in the 2025 WAFF Women's Championship

The Saudi women's national team concluded its participation in the ninth edition of the WAFF Asian Women's Championship, which witnessed strong competition, high technical levels, and a commendable performance from the national team.

The Saudi women's team began its journey in the tournament with a valuable 2-1 victory in its first match against Iraq on November 24th. They continued their impressive performance with a resounding 5-0 win over the UAE on November 28th, securing their place in the semi-finals.

In the semi-final, the Saudi team faced Palestine on November 30th in a match that went to penalties after a draw in regular time, then the Saudi team ultimately lost 3-4 after a hard-fought and competitive performance.

The Saudi women's team then competed for third place on December 2nd against Iraq, losing 2-4 on penalties after the two teams were tied.

Despite missing out on the bronze medal, the national team delivered outstanding and promising performances, reflecting the players' technical and physical development, as well as the high level of spirit they displayed throughout the tournament.

For her part, Alia bint Abdulaziz Al-Rashid, Director of Women's Football, expressed her pride in the players' performance, emphasizing that it reflects the significant efforts being made to develop the sport.

"Our players presented a commendable image of women's football in the Kingdom, demonstrating their ability to compete and deliver strong performances. We are proud of them and the high spirits they displayed during the tournament.", she added.

The national women's team continues its preparations for upcoming competitions, building on the technical gains achieved during its participation in the WAFF Championship, as part of the rapid development of women's football in the Kingdom
