The Saudi U-17 national women's team is preparing to participate in the 6th WAFF U-17 Girls' Championship, which will be hosted by the Jordan Football Association from July 17 to 27, 2026.
Eight teams will participate, as their names are: Jordan, the UAE, Bahrain, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Palestine, and Lebanon.
The tournament draw was held today, placing our national team in Group A alongside Syria, Lebanon, and the UAE.
The team aims to deliver outstanding performances in this group.
The tournament aims to raise the level of technical competition and develop women's football in West Asia, in addition to providing the players with valuable international experience.
In this context, the Director of Women's Football, Alia bint Abdulaziz Al-Rashid, emphasized the importance of participation, noting that the tournament represents a significant milestone in the national team's preparation.
"Our participation in this tournament is part of a long-term development plan aimed at improving the players' skills and honing their abilities through competition with distinguished teams in the region, thus enhancing the team's readiness for upcoming challenges.", she stated.
The national youth team's coaching staff hopes to maximize the technical benefits of this participation and deliver a performance that reflects the progress of women's football in the Kingdom.
