
Kuwait to Host 2026-2027 Saudi Super Cup in Partnership with Al-Rai Media Group

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), represented by its exclusive commercial partner SMC Vibes, has announced the signing of an agreement with Al-Rai Media Group, under which, the group becomes an official partner for hosting the 13th edition of the Saudi Super Cup (2026-2027 season), scheduled to take place in Kuwait from December 19 to 23, 2026.
The agreement was signed today, Monday, in Riyadh, in a ceremony was attended by the President of the Kuwait Football Association, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yousef Al-Sabah; his counterpart in the SAFF, Mr. Badr bin Sulaiman Al-Razaiza; and representatives from the partner organizations.
The tournament matches will be held at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, featuring four clubs: Al-Nassr, Al-Kholood, Al-Ahli, and Al-Qadisiyah, as the draw to determine the semi-final matchups is scheduled for October 14.
Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yousef Al-Sabah welcomed the hosting of the Saudi Super Cup in Kuwait, noting that the tournament adds value to the Gulf sports landscape. He expressed anticipation for delivering an exceptional edition that befits the stature of the tournament and the participating teams.
Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yousef Al-Sabah emphasized that hosting the event reflects the deep, brotherly ties between Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, highlighting the significant interest and following Saudi football enjoys among Kuwaiti fans.
For his part, Mr. Badr bin Sulaiman Al-Razaiza, President of the SAFF, emphasized the importance of the Saudi Super Cup within the Federation's competition framework, in addition to highlighting the ongoing efforts to develop the tournament and boost its fan engagement and commercial appeal.
The President of the SAFF noted that hosting the upcoming edition in Kuwait represents a historic opportunity to strengthen the tournament's presence across the Gulf region, reach a wider audience, and forge strategic partnerships that enhance its value while supporting the sustainability and development of Saudi football.
Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, CEO of SMC Vibes, stated that hosting the Saudi Super Cup in Kuwait marks a new step toward expanding the tournament's reach and commercial value, ultimately delivering greater benefits for the competition, its partners, and its fans.
Meanwhile, Rashid bin Ali Al-Omairi, CEO of Al-Rai Media Group, expressed his delight at the partnership to host the Saudi Super Cup, affirming the Group's eagerness to collaborate with SAFF and SMC Vibes to deliver an exceptional edition that reflects the tournament's prestige and the significant interest Kuwaiti fans have in Saudi football.
Hosting the tournament in Kuwait carries a Gulf-wide significance that transcends mere sporting competition, reflects the close, historic, and fraternal ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Kuwait, as well as the social and geographical proximity and shared passion for football uniting the two peoples, as all these factors promise a unique atmosphere and bolster the tournament's profile across the Gulf region.
Kuwait marks the eighth stop in the journey of the Saudi Super Cup, which has traveled—since its inception—across various cities both domestically and internationally, from Makkah, Riyadh, Jeddah, and Abha to London, Abu Dhabi, and Hong Kong, the tournament has demonstrated a diverse range of venues and an expanding fan base, before finally arriving in Kuwait for the first time this coming December.
