The U-23 national team defeats South Africa in its friendly camp in Jeddah

The U-23 national team defeated its guest South Africa 3-2 on Saturday, at the reserve stadium in King Abdullah Sports City, within the preparatory camp in Jeddah, which comes within the second phase of the program of preparation for the Olympic Games in Tokyo, to be held in July.
The match witnessed the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, the Minister of Sports, Chairman of the Saudi Olympic Committee, and Yasser Al Misehal, the Chairman of the SAFF, and Dr. Khaled bin Muqrin, the General Supervisor of the youth national teams, and members Bandar Al-Ahmadi, and Abdullah Kabuha .
The goals of the u-23 national team came through Sami Al-Naji in the stoppage time of the first half, Nasser Al-Omran in the 88th minute, and Ramzi Solan in the 92nd minute of the match.
Coach Saad Al-Shehri entered the match with a list consisting of: Amin Al-Bukhari, Saud Abdul-Hamid, Abdullah Al-Omari, Fahd Al-Hamad, Muhannad Al-Shanqeeti, Ali Al-Hassan, Hamed Al-Ghamdi, Hassan Abu Sharara, Sami Al-Naji, Ayman Al-Khalif and Saad Al-Salouli.
Al-Shehri also included, during the second half, Salih Al-Wahimid in goalkeeping, Hamad Al-Yami, Khalifa Al-Dossary, Abdul Basit Hindi, Abdullah Al-Youssef, Nasser Al-Omran, Mukhtar Ali, Fawaz Al-Taris, Hussein Al-Issa, Abdul Rahman Gharib and Ramzi Solan.
After the end of the match, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, during his meeting with the players, praised the level they showed throughout the match and the high discipline, calling on them to double work during the coming period, which will witness more events.
Yasser Al Misehal, the President of the SAFF, thanked and appreciated His Highness the Minister of Sports for his continuous presence and support for the national teams, which had the greatest impact on the development of the teams' results.
Al Misehal praised the technical levels and the distinguished performance of the players, hoping that they will continue this performance in the upcoming friendly matches, in preparation for the Olympic Games.
It is reported that the U-23 national team qualified for the Olympic Games (Tokyo 2020) after winning one of the qualifying seats in the U-23 AFC Cup in Thailand last January, during which it finished second.
