The city of Riyadh will host the first and fourth group matches, as the first group includes Al Hilal Saudi clubs, Shabab Al-Ahly Dubai of the United Arab Emirates, the winner of the match between Al-Gharafa, Qatar and Ajmak of Uzbekistan, and Istiqlal Dushanbe of Tajikistan, while the fourth group includes clubs, Al-Nasr Saudi, Al-Sadd Al-Qatari, Al-Wehdat Al-Jordanian. , And the winner of the Iranian match Foolad Khuzestan and Al-Ain UAE.
Jeddah also hosts Group C matches, which include Al-Ahly of Saudi Arabia, Al-Duhail Al-Qatari, Al-Shurta Al-Iraqi, and Istiqlal Tehran of Iran.
The Football Association had completed the hosting request file by securing all the Asian requirements in an effort to support the nation’s representatives in the continental championship, with coordination, follow-up, and interest from the Ministry of Sports and joint cooperation with the clubs, as the AFC decision was issued that the Saudi Federation obtained 3 groups out of 4, all of which were requested to be hosted.
For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Football Association, Yasser bin Hassan Al Misehal, thanked and thanked the wise leadership for its unlimited support for Saudi sports, which contributed to the approval of the AFC to host the three group matches.
Al-Mashal valued the great effort on the part of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, who provided all the capabilities that paved the way for the approval of the AFC to request the three clubs Al-Hilal, Al-Nasr, and Al-Ahly to host their group matches in the Champions League.
Al-Mashal stressed that the strength of the procedures, facilities, capabilities and human cadres that Saudi Arabia enjoys has strengthened the confidence of the AFC and its bet on the success of the three-group matches.
He said: "The Kingdom is fully prepared to host matches, especially at the level of precautionary measures taken to limit the spread of the Corona virus, pointing out that the Football Association will work with the Ministry of Sports and the relevant authorities to provide the utmost health comfort for the participating missions so that things pass peacefully, thanks to God first."
