The technical director of the national under-23 team, Saad Al-Shehri, affirmed the great intention to present NT to an honorable level during the Olympic Games (Tokyo 2020), which will start next July.

This came in a comment about the result of the draw for the football competitions within the Olympic Games, which was held on Wednesday morning at the headquarters of the International Football Association (FIFA) in Switzerland, which placed the "green" alongside the teams of Brazil, Germany and the Ivory Coast.

Saad Al-Shehri explained that they are aware in advance that the lottery is at this level of difficulty, as the Olympiad is a global forum that includes many high-level teams, all of which have great potential and high desire and ambition.

Regarding the difficulty of the NT group, Saad Al-Shehri said: "All groups are strong, but the difficulty of the matches varies between the Saudi national team and the rest of the groups, and our goal is to participate in such global forums that polish everyone, players and technical and administrative bodies because of the strength of their level and professionalism."

Saad Al-Shehri added: "Our ambitions are great, and because we are among the 16 best under-23 teams in the world, we will strive to be among the top 8 teams through this tournament, and nothing is impossible with work and diligence."

On the players over the age of 23 who will be selected to participate in the tournament, he said: "The final selection has not yet been made. We have determined the names in each center, and the selection will be made before the last camp, God willing."

At the end of his speech, the coach of the national under-23 team, Saad Al-Shehri, called on the Saudi fans to enjoy the national team during his participation in this global forum and his support throughout the course of the tournament.
