Today, Sunday, the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation approved the new amendments to the professionalism and players' conditions and transfers regulations, which will be officially implemented as of its date.
The regulation included a number of amendments that came in line with the requirements of the statute of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, and the International Football Association (FIFA), and the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and the principles of natural justice.
The most prominent amendments to the regulation were the cancelation of the upper sum for contracts for Saudi professional players, which has been in effect since 2015.
On the other hand, the Board of Directors of the SAFF approved the establishment of a temporary committee under the name (Constituent Committee for the Law of Fair Financial Play), as the committee will coordinate with the relevant authorities to study the existing options, develop appropriate plans, prepare a regulation for fair financial play and submit final recommendations to the Board of Directors, provided that the announcement is made later for the members of the committee.
This step comes as part of the efforts made by the relevant authorities to find and activate effective control tools over financial affairs, and to enhance the principle of transparency in financial transactions, after studying the matter with experts in the International Football Association (FIFA).
