Kuwait – October 14, 2026
The draw for the Saudi Super Cup, held this Wednesday at the St. Regis Hotel in Kuwait, has mapped out the path for the four participating teams as they vie for the title. The draw set up a semi-final clash between Al-Qadsiah and Al-Ahli, while Al-Nassr will face Al-Kholood in the second semi-final match.
Kuwait will host the tournament from December 19 to 23 at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium—marking the first time the Saudi Super Cup has been held in Kuwait. This follows the signing of an official partnership agreement between the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) and a consortium comprising the Kuwaiti entities Al-Rai Media Group and Aayan Leasing and Investment Company.
The draw ceremony was attended by the Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait, Prince Sultan bin Saad bin Khalid Al Saud; Kuwait’s Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma; President of the Kuwait Football Association, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yousef; and SAFF Secretary-General, Majid bin Ali Al-Sahib, in addition to representatives from the participating clubs, the "Al-Rai–Aayan" consortium, the hosting partner Zain, and various prominent figures from the worlds of sports and media.
The ceremony began with the playing of the national anthems of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Kuwait, followed by a promotional video showcasing the Saudi Super Cup in Kuwait.
The event featured appearances by several football stars, including a segment highlighting the experiences of Kuwaiti football icons Ali Marwi and Bashar Abdullah in the Saudi League, as a reminder to the long standing history of sporting ties between the Kingdom and Kuwait.
Both players also took part in the draw proceedings, which were overseen by Naeem Al-Bakr, Chairman of the Competitions Committee at the Saudi Arabian Football Federation.
For his part, tournament Director Khaled Salah Al-Sayer emphasized that the tournament draw serves as a key milestone in the preparatory program, marking the beginning of a new phase of organizational and operational readiness leading up to the start of the competition. He noted that work is ongoing in coordination with various relevant stakeholders to deliver an edition worthy of the tournament’s stature and its widespread popularity.
Al-Sayer added that the coming period will see an intensification of efforts across organizational, media, marketing, and logistical fronts, before pointing out that the working teams are continuing to finalize their arrangements according to a clear timeline, ensuring full preparedness to welcome the participating teams and fans, and to provide an exceptional organizational experience that reflects Kuwait’s capability to host major sporting events.
