A reference to what has been said during the past days on social media regarding a complaint submitted to the Professionalism and Players Conditions Committee.
The Saudi Arabian Football Federation confirms its respect for all legal norms by not talking about the pending issues and addressing them until all the details of the case are completed, but SAFF wants to clarify some general concepts that apply to such cases, in particular determining the competence of the SAFF to consider disputes one of the parties to which is a non-Saudi player.
Accordingly, and because the regulations for professionalism and Players Conditions and the Chamber of Dispute Resolution are applied to local disputes according to what is stated in Article 3, paragraph 4 of the Professional Regulations, as for cases in which one of the parties is not Saudi, the dispute is considered international and its jurisdiction is with the International Football Association.
This general principle is subject to the facts of each case separately, and in all cases it is important to verify the identification of the competent authority to hear the dispute in order to ensure the correctness and integrity of the procedures, especially in the event of another relevant case with an international body.
In order to avoid duplication in issuing decisions, the Professionalism Committee, in coordination with the legal department of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, constantly communicates - in such cases - with the competent authority of the International Federation, and as a result, the relevant legal procedures are decided in the case.
