
The Referees Committee meet with MBS clubs and decide to continue to use foreign referees

Today, Tuesday, the referees committee of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation held a meeting with representatives of Prince Mohammed bin Salman Professional Cup League clubs, via visual communication technology, to discuss the mechanism for using non-Saudi refereeing teams during the next sports season 2022-2023.
During the meeting, which was attended by the President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, Yasser Al Misehal, and the Secretary-General, Ibrahim Al Kassim; It was agreed that the clubs would continue to be allowed to use the non-Saudi referees without a specific number, and it was also agreed not to allow the clubs to cancel the request after submitting it within the specified period.
The Referees Committee has reduced the conditions for submitting a request for a non-Saudi referees to be at least 14 days before the match date, instead of 16, provided that the allocated money have to be deposited when the request is submitted.
The President of the committee, Manuel Navarro, explained that he continued to welcome to meet all club officials and discuss matters related to the arbitration system.
Navarro valued the permanent cooperation of the clubs with the committee with the aim of moving forward towards upgrading the level of Saudi referees as one of the most important pillars of the success of local competitions.
It is noteworthy that the clubs used 67 non-Saudi referees last season, 3 of them with the second option, which includes 5 foreign referees (a referee, 2 assistants, and 2 var referees), while 64 non-Saudi referees were used in the first option set by the committee, which includes (a referee and 2 assistants).
