The Saudi Second Division League for the 2022-2023 sports season will start on September 30, which will witness an exceptional version with the participation of 32 teams for the first time, divided into two groups, with a total prize money of 5 million and 650 thousand riyals.

Today, Thursday, the Competitions Committee of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation issued a schedule for the second division matches, as the 32 clubs were divided into two groups, the first group included Al-Diriyah, Al-Qaws, Al-Nahda, Jerash, Al-Taraji, Qilwah, Al-Sad, Al-Intisar, Al-Bukairiya, Arar, Tuwaiq, Al-Saqr, Al-Takadum, Al-Liwa, Al-Jandal and Hittin clubs.

On the other hand, the second group included Al-Jeel, Al-Suqur Al-Kawkab, Sajer, Bisha, Shuaib, Al-Nairiya, Al-Najma, Al-Zulfi, Al-Sharq, Al-Rayyan, Al-Ansar, Al-Rawdah, Al-Safa, Waj and Al-Washam clubs.

The division of the participating clubs in the Second Division was based on the result of the draw that was held in Riyadh on June 9, which divided the 32 clubs into 16 levels.

Second Division clubs are competing for 5 qualified seats to the Yelo League for First Division professional clubs, as the leader and runner-up of each group, in addition to the winner of the third-group play-off, will qualify, while the 15 and 16 places from each group will be relegated to the Third Division.

The Second Division League comes in its new season amid several changes, including the Competitions Committee aimed at developing the competition and raising the level of the participating teams.

In addition to increasing the number of clubs to 32 instead of 28, the number of foreign players has also been increased to 4 professionals, with clubs being given the freedom to select the fourth foreigner as either a foreigner or a native.

The first place holder in each group will receive 800,000 riyals, while the second place will receive 500,000 riyals, the third "300,000 riyals", the fourth "150,000 riyals", the fifth "140,000 riyals", the sixth "130 thousand riyals", seventh "120,000 riyals," the eighth "110,000 riyals," the ninth "100 thousand riyals," the tenth "85 thousand," the eleventh "75 thousand riyals," the twelfth "65 thousand riyals," the thirteenth "55 thousand riyals," the fourteenth "45 thousand riyals", the fifteenth "30 thousand riyals", the sixteenth "20 thousand riyals", while the champion of the second division receives an additional reward of 200 thousand riyals.
