The second division league 2022-2023 starts on Friday with the participation of 32 teams

Tomorrow, Friday, the second division of the Saudi League 2022-2023 sports season will start, as it will witness an exceptional version with the participation of 32 teams for the first time, divided into two groups, with total prizes of 5 million and 650 thousand riyals.

The participating teams were divided into two groups based on the result of the draw that was held in Riyadh on June 9.

The first group included Qilwah, Al Sadd, Tuwaiq, Al-Intisar, Al-Takaddom, Hittin, Al-Taraji, Al-Bukayriyah, Al-Diriyah, Al-Qaws, Al-Nahda, Jerash, Al-Jandal, Al-Liwaa, Arar and Al-Saqr.

On the other hand, the second group included Al-Nairiyah, Sajer, Al-Kawkab, Al-Sharq, Al-Jeel, Al-Zulfi, Al-Najma, Al-Rayyan, Al-Suqour, Bisha, Al-Rawda, Al-Safa, J, Al-Washm, Al-Shuaib and Al-Ansar clubs.

The second division league clubs will compete for 5 seats that qualify for the Yelo League for first division professional clubs, as the leader and runner-up of each group, in addition to the winner of the groups play-off between the 3rd place holders, will promote to the third division league, while the 15 and 16 places from each group will be relegated to the third division league.

The second division league comes in its new season amid several changes, as the Competitions Committee of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation aimed at developing the competition and raising the level of participating teams, with increasing the number of clubs to 32 instead of 28 teams, the number of foreign players has also been increased to 4 professionals, with giving clubs the freedom to determine the fourth foreigner, either foreigner or born.

The first place holder in each group will receive 800,000 riyals, while the second place holder will receive 500,000 riyals, the third "300,000 riyals", the fourth "150,000 riyals", the fifth "140,000 riyals", the sixth "130 thousand riyals", seventh "120,000 riyals," the eighth "110 thousand riyals," the ninth "100 thousand riyals," the tenth "85 thousand," the eleventh "75 thousand riyals," the twelfth "65 thousand riyals," the thirteenth "55 thousand riyals," the fourteenth "45 thousand riyals", the fifteenth "30 thousand riyals", the sixteenth "20 thousand riyals", while the champion of the second division league receives an additional reward of 200 thousand riyals.

The first round competitions will start on Friday with 8 matches in the first group, as Al-Diriyah faces Al-Qaws, Al-Nahda with Jerash, Al-Taraji with Qilwa, Al-Sadd with Al-Intisar, Al-Bukairiya with Arar, Tuwaiq with Al-Saqr, Al-Takaddom with Al-Liwaa, and Al-Jandal with Hittin.

The round competitions will continue on Saturday with 8 matches in the second group, as Al-Jeel will face Al-Suqour, Al-Kawkab with Sajer, Bisha with Al-Shuaib, Al-Nairiya with Al-Najma, Al-Zulfi with Al-Sharq, Al-Rayyan with Al-Ansar, Waj with Al-Washm and Al-Rawdah with Al-Safa.
