The Women's Futsal Tournament will be launched in Ramadan

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation will launch the women’s futsal tournament, from March 25 to April 8, with the participation of 22 teams who will be distributed into three groups, as the cities of Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah will host the group stage, while the final rounds will be held in Riyadh.


Teams from the Women’s Premier League and the First-Division league will participate in the revitalization tournament, “Al-Nassr, Al-Yamama, Al-Ittihad, Al-Ahli, Sho'la Al-Sharqiyah, Sama, Al-Riyadh, Al-Muttahid, Fakhr Jeddah, Al-Himma, Najmat Jeddah, Al-Laith Al-Abyad, Sahm, Majd Al-Gharbia, Al-Nawras, Fleij, Ittihad Al-Nusour, Al-Taraji, Al-Nosour Al-Zahabiya, Al-Amal, Al-Anqaa, and the Regional Training Center.


The group stage will be held in a league system of one round, as the clubs of the western region are divided into two groups, as “Al-Ahli, Fakhr Jeddah, Majd Al-Gharbia, Al-Layth Al-Abyad, and Al-Amal” in the first group, and the second group includes “Al-Ittihad, Najmat Jeddah, Sahm, Al-Nawras, Al-Anqaa", as the first-placed and the winner of the play-off match between the second-placed teams in the two groups qualify for the final rounds.

The clubs of the central region will be divided into two groups, in the first group the clubs “Al-Nassr, Sama, Al-Nosour Al-Zahabiya, and Al-Himma” and in the second group the clubs “Al-Yamama, Al-Riyadh and the Regional Training Center team”, as the first-placed and the winner of the play-off match between the second-placed teams in both groups will qualify for the final rounds.

In the Eastern Region, the teams are in one group that includes "Sho'la Al-Sharqiya, Al-Mottahed, Felij, Al-Taraji, and Ittihad Al-Nosour", as the first and second placed will qualify for the final rounds.


The elimination rounds will be held in the Riyadh, starting with the quarter-final round, from 4 to 8 April, in the green halls and the Riyadh Club hall.

Alia Al-Rasheed, Director of the Women's Football Department, said that the goal of holding this tournament is to create a ground for women's futsal in the Kingdom, with the aim of establishing a futsal league in the future, wishing success to all participating teams.

The Croatian coach of the women's national futsal team, "Mato Stunkovic", stressed the importance of holding such tournaments in order to expand the circle of competition in futsal, which directly serves the first national team, and gives the opportunity for many talents to present themselves.
