The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) has signed a strategic partnership agreement with the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) and King Saud University (KSU) to launch the FIFA/CIES International Programme in Sports Management in the Kingdom. The agreement was signed at the King Saud University headquarters in Riyadh.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Acting President of King Saud University, Professor Abdullah bin Salman Al-Salman,
the Assistant Secretary General for Strategic Affairs at the SAFF, Majid Al-Sahib, and the President of the CIES, Pierre Cornu.
The program is scheduled to launch in the coming months in Riyadh and aims to provide participants with essential insights into the commercial, financial, and legal aspects, as well as modern administrative processes in global sports. The program is part of the SAFF's education initiatives, which aim to develop diverse academic programs within the Saudi Arabian football system. By providing educational and development opportunities, this partnership supports efforts to develop the game at all levels, from grassroots to professional, in cooperation with member federations in Asia and beyond.
For his part, the Acting President of King Saud University stated that the university has become the 20th educational institution worldwide to host the international program, noting that the program will enable participants to learn the fundamental aspects of modern sports management, including football.
The Assistant Secretary General for Strategic Affairs at the SAFF stated that the new partnership with King Saud University and CIES to launch the FIFA/CIES International Program will support the continued growth of the Saudi football system and the region as a whole, praising the vision of the Kingdom's educational institutions, which play a key role in this field.
Majed Al Sahib added that this partnership aligns with the SAFF's strategic vision to develop football education and hone talent across the Kingdom, expressing his anticipation for the first batch of students to graduate from King Saud University in the coming months.
Pierre Cornu, President of the International Center for Sports Studies, stated that this partnership comes at a time when sports organizations face numerous challenges in terms of training and education, noting that the FIFA/CIES program will contribute to training a new generation of managers to enhance the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's global sporting role.
