Yesterday, Monday, May 30, the Women's Football Department of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation concluded the second season of the regional training centers for girls in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, which was held from October 2022 to May 2023.

The training sessions were held throughout the season, with 3 training sessions per week, and the number of female players who participated was more than 200, throughout the season, under the supervision of 20 Saudi female coaches.

The coach of the under-17 national team for girls, Stella Kotal, included 30 players from the talents of the national team's regional training centers, as they participated in several camps and friendly matches that were held in February and May of this year.

In addition to the work of the centers on developing football skills, their programs included many educational sessions, national and international events and celebrations, such as World Breast Cancer Day, International Day for Persons with Disabilities, and Foundation Day.

It is worth noting that the regional training centers were established in 2021 with the aim of developing emerging talents from the age of 6 to 17 years in a stimulating educational environment, under the supervision of cadres specialized in football, most notably the former coach of the national women’s team and the technical director of the women’s football department of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation; German Monica Stabb.

Mrs. Alia Al-Rasheed, Director of the Women's Football Department of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, praised the importance of discovering women's football talents at a young age in order to develop them and prepare them to participate in clubs and national teams, as creating a healthy and ambitious generation that wins titles and represents the Kingdom in the best way in continental and international events is the most important goal of the women’s department.
