SAFF establishes Women's national team U-20

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation announced today, Wednesday launching of the Women Under 20 team.
This step comes as a part of the SAFF’s ongoing efforts to develop women’s sports, open new horizons for young women in playing football, and increase the age groups for the national teams, as 4 teams have been established to date, namely the senior team, the junior women’s team, the futsal team, and finally the Under-20 women’s team.
The establishment of the under-20 team aims to chart a professional path for female players, from the foundation stage in the younger teams all the way to the first national team for women, as it also gives the opportunity to participate in international tournaments for junior teams.
The SAFF officially contracted with Scottish coach Pauline Hamill to lead the Green Youth Team.
Hamill has a distinguished coaching record spanning 30 years with the various teams and clubs that she has coached, and her most prominent stations are leading the Scottish U-15, U-16, U-17 and U-19 national teams.
The first camp for the Saudi U-20 women's team will start today, December 5, in the city of Riyadh, and will extend until December 11, with the participation of 27 players, who are: Lulwah Musa, Zahra Bahmid, Fajr Al-Saqqaf, Tin Al-Zahrani, Lulwah Saleh, Maya Abdul Rahman, Lama Muhammad, MianAl-Aqeel, Lulu Abdullah, Basma.” Nawaf, Lian Amir, Lulu Al-Obaid, Juri Al-Juhani, Dana Ahmed, Talin Muhammad, LianSaleh, Maram Al-Yahya, Suhair Batouq, Fatima Mansour, FajrSaad, Sulaf Asiri, Sheikha Asiri, Maluk Al-Hawsawi, Ian Al-Barqawi, Sama Al-Sibani, Nadine Kaki, Jude Mansour.
For her part, Director of the Women’s Football Department, Alia Bint Abdulaziz Al-Rashid, confirmed that the launch of the Saudi U-20 team, represents an important step for women’s football in the Kingdom, stressing the importance of providing opportunities for young women to practice football, hoping that this camp will produce a large number of positive results, as the players will gain valuable experience in improving their technical and physical level.
