
Referees' Committee held the second workshop for media representatives

The Referees' Committee of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, SAFF, chaired by Fernando Tresaco, held the second workshop for the representatives of media, at the press conferences hall at Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Stadium, Al-Malz.
At the beginning of the workshop, Tresaco, reviewed number of statistics of Prince Mohamed Bin Salman Professionals Cup League referees, before presenting an explanation on the mechanism of Video Assistant Referee technology (VAR), and the ways of communication between the match referee and VAR referee.
"All the referees who take charge of the VAR technology, have certified license from the International Football Association Board, IFAB, and are eligible to officiate matches in Prince Mohamed Bin Salman Professionals Cup League", he said.
Fernando pointed out that the committee always works on hiring the best referees, especially the Europeans, despite the presence of the crowded matches schedule in Europe, whether related to the major leagues or the Champions League, stressing that the committee seeks to have the highest calibre of referees, with the support the SAFF.
The chairman of the Referees' Committee revealed that an agreement has been reached with the The Italian and the French Football Federations, to hire number of their best referees, in the coming rounds of Prince Mohamed Bin Salman Professionals Cup League.
In its second section, the workshop saw a practical application in the VAR room to analyze the refereeing cases in accordance with the VAR protocol issued by the IFAB before the workshop concluded by answering media questions.
