
IFAB adopts VAR in Al-Mahala Stadium

The International Football Association Board (IFAB), has adopted Prince Sultan Bin Abdelaziz Sport City Stadium, in Al-Mahala, to start using of Video Assistant Referee technology, VAR, starting from the third matchday in Prince Mohamed Bin Salman Professionals Cup League.
Al-Mahala Stadium will host on Friday its first match in the season, when Ittihad visit Damac in matchday 3.
The international approval came after the Saudi Arabian Football Federation's Referees' Committee, fulfilled the conditions required, for approving VAR.
It must be noted, that SAFF approved the usage of VAR in the current season, with increasing the number of cameras from 8 to 12, at least, for any match, in addition to approving the advanced crosshair technology, to detect offside cases.
For his part, SAFF's secretary general, Ibrahim Al Kassim, expressed his gratitude to the General Sport Authority, for full support, providing needed facilitations, to apply VAR, in all stadiums of MBS Professionals Cup League.
