The Director of the Referees Department participates in the workshop of refereeing directors in the AFC

The Director of the Referees Department at the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, Uzbek Farhad Abdullah,
participated in the workshop for refereeing Directors in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

This workshop, was held over two days at the headquarters of the Asian Football Confederation, in the
Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, and concluded on Thursday.
This workshop is the first to be held in person in 5 years, and was attended by 45 refereeing directors and
representatives of the national federations members of the Asian Football Confederation.
During the workshop, the Director of the Refereeing Department of the Saudi Federation reviewed the
experience of the Saudi Federation in applying the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology and other
technologies.
Farhad stressed during the workshop that the Saudi Federation always seeks to keep pace with the latest
developments in the field of technologies that help referees do their role, which makes the Saudi Federation a
pioneer in applying the best technologies in the world.
The workshop witnessed a review of the strategic plan for the Referees Department of the Asian Football
Confederation for the period 2023-2027.
