The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), and the Saudi League announced the signing of a production contract with the international television production company IMG, through which the company will produce the matches of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, the Saudi Roshen Professional League, and the Saudi Super Cup, starting from the 2024-2025 season for a period of five years.
This step comes in line with the transformation strategy that seeks to make Saudi football competitions among the best in the world of television production.
At the same time, the CEO of the Saudi Professional League, Omar bin Imad Magharbel, confirmed that signing the production contract with the company represents a qualitative leap in the world of television production, and supports the process of developing production content, adding that the relationship with IMG reflects the commitment to bringing the highest standards and technologies to provide an unprecedented experience of viewing Saudi football competitions, for fans and followers from inside and outside the Kingdom.
Also out of concern for the cooperation of the new league product with Saudi suppliers and cadres to ensure that the league remains a Saudi product, qualified national cadres will be utilized in the production process of the league, as well as the transfer of expertise and the application of best practices, which will be reflected in the benefit of local competencies.
IMG International Studios is considered one of the best broadcast centers in Europe, broadcasting more than 35,000 hours of content annually, which will be reflected in this partnership, which will benefit from the company’s expertise to achieve the highest production standards.
IMG currently produces content for some of the world's most important sports leagues, including the English Premier League, the MLS, the World Golf Championships, and the Ryder Cup.
In addition to the new contract in the field of production, IMG will continue to distribute Saudi football competition matches globally for the 2024-2025 season, in continuation of the agreement signed at the beginning of last season, which will last for two years. As for the Middle East and North Africa region, the SSC Group holds the television broadcasting rights, while the digital broadcasting rights are managed through the Shahid platform.
