A coordination meeting was held today, Monday, with the participation of the competitions departments of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation and the Saudi Professional League, along with representatives of Saudi clubs participating in Asian championships.

The meeting addressed the latest developments related to the AFC Champions League and AFC Champions League 2.

The meeting, held via video conference, was part of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation's General Secretariat's action plan to ensure that the participation of Saudi clubs in Asian championships aligns with the domestic calendar.

It also reflects the Federation's ongoing approach of coordinating with clubs and listening to their opinions to reach the best organizational solutions that serve the interests of Saudi football and its representatives on the continent.

The attendees reviewed the Asian Football Confederation's statement regarding the postponement of the Round of 16 matches in both tournaments. They also discussed the remaining schedules for clubs participating in Asian and domestic competitions, and the potential impact of any changes on the domestic and continental competition schedules.

The meeting also discussed the solutions proposed by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation and the Professional League Association, and their compatibility with the local calendar.

The meeting concluded with a number of proposed solutions that will be submitted to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). It was also agreed to grant clubs a deadline to study the proposed solutions and submit their feedback, with tomorrow, Tuesday, at noon, being the final date for receiving proposals. These proposals will then be submitted to the AFC for further action, in coordination with the relevant parties.
