International referee Raed Al-Zahrani joins Asia's Video Assistant Referee (VAR) roster

International referee Raed Al-Zahrani has officially joined Asia's Video Assistant Referee (VAR) roster after successfully completing a training course organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) at its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from February 2nd to 6th, 2026.

The course was specifically designed for international VAR referees.

The President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, Yasser bin Hassan Al-Mishal, congratulated Al-Zahrani on his inclusion in the elite list of Asian VAR referees, adding him to the ranks of Saudi referees ranked among the continent's elite.

Al-Mishal wished him and his colleagues continued success and expressed his hope that they would present a distinguished image of Saudi refereeing at both the Asian and international levels.

"We are continuously working to elevate the level of Saudi referees, who have proven their presence among the continent's elite and achieved a prominent role in numerous regional, continental, and international events in recent times.", Al-Mishal added.
