Al-Misehal announces SAFF support for Mr. Infantino's candidacy for FIFA presidency until 2031

Yasser Almisehal, President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation and FIFA Council Member, confirmed - on behalf of himself and the Board of Directors - SAFF’s full support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino following his declaration of candidacy for a new presidential term running from 2027-31.

The announcement was made during the 76th FIFA Congress held Thuraday in Vancouver, Canada.

Almisehal stated that this position reflects the Federation’s firm conviction in the importance of institutional continuity in advancing global football, as well as in building on the achievements realised in recent years - achievements that have contributed to the game’s sustained growth and expanding international reach.

He added that the next phase requires continued collaboration with FIFA in a manner that strengthens national associations, enhances development opportunities and sustainability, and elevates the global football ecosystem.
