The Elections Committee Announces the Final List of Candidates for the Presidency and Board Membership

The Elections Committee for the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, in its sixth session, announced the final list of candidates for the presidency and board membership.

This announcement followed the completion of the appeals and grievances process and the expiration of the period designated for candidate withdrawals, in accordance with the election timetable announced on July 16.

The committee had previously announced the preliminary list of candidates on August 8, followed by the commencement of the period designated for submitting appeals and grievances to the Saudi Center for Sports Arbitration from August 9 to 13. The Center reviewed the submitted appeals and grievances and issued its rulings, which included accepting some in form and rejecting others on their merits, as reported by the Saudi Center for Sports Arbitration.

Following the conclusion of the appeals and grievances process, the committee completed the procedures outlined in the election timetable, as this period designated for candidate withdrawals ended yesterday, Tuesday, August 25, without the committee receiving any withdrawal requests.

Based on the powers vested in the Elections Committee by Article (8) of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation's Election Regulations, paragraph (5) of which stipulates that "the approval of the preliminary and final lists of candidates for the presidency and membership of the Board of Directors after reviewing them and ensuring they meet all the conditions stipulated in these regulations," the Elections Committee of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation has approved the final list of candidates for the sixth term of the Federation's Board of Directors elections.

The Extraordinary General Assembly meeting of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation is scheduled to be held next Sunday, August 30, in Riyadh.
