August 8, 2021 — The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) has signed an agreement with Lenovo to become the Official Technology Partner of Saudi Football, including with the Saudi Federation and its National Teams.
The cooperation was announced during a press conference held at the headquarters of SAFF in Riyadh on Sunday, 8th August in the presence of Ibrahim AlKassim, General Secretary at SAFF, and Marwan Bsat, General Manager for Lenovo Saudi Arabia. The signing ceremony also saw the attendance of renowned Saudi National team stars, Saleh Al-Shehri and AbduIlah Al-Omari.
As part of this historic first partnership with a national football federation, Lenovo will provide technical support to the Saudi national teams and will be an Official Technology Sponsor of the Kingdom’s most prestigious knockout football tournament, The King’s Cup. Lenovo’s logo will also exclusively appear on the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) Check graphic screens, inside the central VAR control room and on the substitution boards of the SPL and King’s Cup matches.
The General Secretary of SAFF, Ibrahim AlKassim, expressed his happiness at signing the strategic partnership, noting that SAFF looks forward to further consolidating its alliance with Lenovo in the interest of both parties. He emphasized that this partnership will also deliver real and tangible improvements to the football ecosystem within the Kingdom.
General Manager for Lenovo Saudi Arabia, Marwan Bsat, emphasized that transforming the digital experience for Saudi football clubs and accelerating technological enhancements for the sport in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has for long been a goal for the company. Bsat also noted that the smooth negotiation process with SAFF helped the partnership reach its full potential and demonstrated the organisation’s continued commitment to enhancing its operations.
Lenovo will leverage its best technologies and capabilities to help SAFF manage large amounts of data, transform operations, and deliver better results on and off the pitch.
